Ingredients

For the Croquettes

  • 2 cans Tuna, (130 grams each after draining the water)

  • 1½ -2 cups Fresh Bread Crumbs, (2 slices of fresh bread)

  • ¼ cup Onion, finely diced

  • 1 Green Chili, finely diced

  • 2 Garlic Cloves, finely minced

  • ¼ cup Tomato, finely diced

  • ½ tsp Dijon Mustard

  • ¼ tbsp Lemon Juice

  • ¼ cup Cilantro/Coriander, finely chopped

  • 2 Eggs, large

  • Salt, to taste

  • Pepper, to taste

For Coating the Croquettes

  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs

  • 2 Eggs

For Airfrying the Corquettes

  • 1 tbsp Oil

Alternatively, for Pan Frying the Croquettes

  • Oil as required for Shallow frying or Deep Frying

Method

  1. Add the tuna, fresh bread crumbs, finely diced onion, green chili, garlic, tomatoes, cilantro, dijon mustard, lemon juice, eggs, salt, and pepper to a bowl. Mix it together till well combined.

  2. Add bread crumbs to a medium-sized bowl, in another bowl crack and beat the eggs. Create a workstation by keeping the prepared tuna mixture first, then the bowl with the beaten egg, and then the bowl with the bread crumbs.

  3. Take a small portion of the mixture and form it into a cylindrical shape.  Dip it into the beaten egg.  Once it is coated with the egg, use a fork to lift it and drain off the excess egg before putting it into the bowl with the bread crumbs.  Sprinkle bread crumbs all over the tuna croquette.  Now place the croquette on a clean work surface to roll and shape it again.

  4. Place the prepared croquettes in the air fryer and brush with oil before cooking them at 355F/180C for 10 minutes.

  5. Alternatively, you can shallow fry or even deep fry the croquettes.
