Delicious Cherry Syrup Topping

Ingredients


  • 4 cups Fresh Cherries, stalks removed and pitted 

  • ¾ cup Water, room temperature

  • 2 tbsp Sugar

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch (add 1 tbsp of water to make a slurry)

  • Pinch of Salt


Method


  1. In a heavy bottom pot, add the water, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch slurry, and salt.

  2. Place the pot on medium heat and continuously stir until the mixture begins to thicken.

  3. Now toss in the cherries and cook for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

  5. Bottle and preserve.
